Day 128: Faro Blanco Resort and Marina (Marathon, FL) 3/7/22

Happy Monday!

Jen went to the gym this morning, and spent the day hanging out at the pool with Mia.

Kelly spent the day working on getting our trip to Disney World booked. We are thinking we can leave our boat in Cape Canaveral, and rent a car and drive to Disney. We will have to drop the dogs off at the doggy hotel on Disney property. Harley isn’t fixed and unfortunately would not have been allowed to play with others so he will be coming with us to the hotel.

Other than that it was a pretty quiet day for the Wishes gang. Mike worked, and the dogs were sleepy.

Day 127: Faro Blanco Resort and Marina (Marathon, FL) 3/6/22

Jen went to yoga class this morning.

Mike did some general engine checks.

Then the gang went to the pool and hung out. It started to rain so they went to the bar and had a few drinks. Once the rain stopped and the sun came back out, they went and played Rummikub with Steve, Marsha, Mel, Phill and Lynn. All friends from the marina who go to docktails with us. We played Left, Right, Center as well.

We walked to Porky’s for happy hour and had coconut mojitos, taco, pork belly, and some shrimp. It was very good, and we will defiantly be back.

It was very windy tonight, and Teddy loved sitting by the door felling the breeze.

Day 126: Faro Blanco Resort and Marina (Marathon, FL) 3/5/22

Happy Birthday Mike!!

We rode our bikes to The Stuffed Pig for brunch and had ultimate Bloody Mary’s. They were super yummy! Afterwards we went to West Marine the get a few things.

When we got back to Faro Blanco, right behind Mel’s boat was a huge female manatee. It was so cool to watch it eat the grass and swim around!

Mike replaced the zincs on both engines. While Jen made Pineapple and Mango cupcakes for her dad’s birthday.

We went to docktails at 5, and the manatee was still there swimming around. Everyone sang Mike happy birthday, and ate cupcakes. Afterwards we went back to the boat and had some popcorn and watched Game of Thrones.

Day 125: Faro Blanco Resort and Marina (Marathon, FL) 3/4/22

It was super windy today, and the waves were crazy.

Jen went to the gym and did a little cleaning. She also rode her bike 5 miles in total to get the ingredient to make cupcakes for Mike’s birthday tomorrow.

Mike worked.

Kelly cleaned and did some financial stuff, tax prep and what not.

Another windy night. The dingy was in the water, and had to quickly be pulled up and out. It was a little scary considering just how windy it was. See video below.

Jen made pasta salad and hot dogs from dinner. The crew watched the Big Bang Theory, and went to bed early.

Day 124: Faro Blanco Resort and Marina (Marathon, FL) 3/3/22

Jen spent the day at the pool reading and went to the gym.

Tonight instead of going to docktails, the Wishes Crew had drinks on the boat SoulMate. Kim Russo, the head of the AGLCA (Americas Great Loop Cruisers Association) was there along with the crew’s of Our Floating Home and Kismet where there. It was a fun night of light appetizers, and great conversation.

Day 123: Faro Blanco Resort and Marina (Marathon, FL) 3/2/22

Jen took Harley for a long walk, and over to the field to play fetch. He was such a good boy and carried his ball to the field, on the way home he was too tired so Jen carried it home for him. Afterwards Jen went to the gym and worked out.

Mike worked, he had a meeting today and the dogs did good not barking during it.

After work, Mike and the girls went to docktails. There was a double rainbow over Mel and Anne’s boat. It was beautiful, see pictures below.

Jen made pasta with shrimp for dinner… yummy as always. Then the Wishes crew FaceTimed Michael before watching some Game of Thrones.

Day 121: Faro Blanco Resort and Marina (Marathon, FL) 2/28/22

Kelly and Jen spent the day at Bahia Honda State Park. It was on the Atlantic side of the Keys. The water was so clear and warm. Before leaving the girls packed sandwiches and had lunch on the beach.

After the day at the beach the girls went back to the boat and sat on the bow with the dogs. The dogs loved it, and did a really good job not barking at people as the walked by. Kelly and Jen fed the dogs watermelon, strawberries, and cantaloupe.

Mike went fishing with a few of the guys on the dock, unfortunately they didn’t catch anything. The guys still had fun though!

Day 120: Faro Blanco Resort and Marina (Marathon, FL) 2/27/22

Today the gang drove to the Nautical Flea Market in Islamorada. It was about an hour drive. We parked at Coral Shores High School, and got on the shuttle bus that took us to Founders Park where the flea market was. It was a very hot and sunny day. It was fun getting to walk around and see all the different booths.

After the Flea Market we had a late lunch in Tavernier. We went to J-Dao Sushi and Thai restaurant. It was pretty good… see pictures below! One of the rolls we got had banana on it, it was an interesting fruity combination.

Traffic was a bit of a pain on the way home, but we made it back. We watched Game of Thrones and had popcorn.

Day 119: Faro Blanco Resort and Marina (Marathon, FL) 2/26/22

Happy Saturday!

Mike and Jen went to the grocery store first thing this morning and stopped at the produce stand on the way back.

When they got back from the store Jen made cookie dough dessert cheese balls to take to both parties this afternoon.

First party for today was the Faro Blanco Mardi Gras party. As always the food was amazing, and we loved getting to hangout with all of our boat friends. All the food was Cajun themed, Ann Cosgrove one the boat Morning Star 2 made shrimp and grits… it was the best shrimp and grits w have ever had. We had lots of dirty rice and beans as well, which were all amazing. Jen and Mia have become good friends since we’ve been here, she is the little girl in the picture below.

After the Mardi Gras Party we got in the car drove to Banana Bay Resort and Marina for the AGLCA (Americas Great Loop Cruisers Association) Sunset Celebration. We made new friends, saw a few old ones, and won a 2022 Waterway Guide for when we head up the east coast. It was a fun few hours.
