Today Jen and Kelly spent the day walking around downtown doing some shopping. There are lots of cute shops around here, so it took all day to see them all.

Mike worked, but joined the girls for lunch at Chick and Ruth’s. The girls split a Ruben. It was probably the best Ruben we have ever had. It was so so yummy. We got ice cream as well. It’s homemade ice cream, with unique flavors like Lemon Poppyseed. It was very creamy.

Jen and Kelly went to Mills Fine Wine and Spirits. They stocked up on wine, which is stored in our “wine cellar” aka Jen’s bathroom. The box was so heavy they offered to deliver it to the boat for us.

Jen made BBQ shredded chicken sliders with coleslaw for dinner. Yum!

It was a sad morning as we had to leave our friends in Deale. All of our friends came to send us off. We never say goodbye we always say see you later, so we gave hugs and pulled out of our slip.

We had a great travel day.

Docking in Annapolis was a bit tricky. It was a small slip and narrow runway. Kelly watched the port stern while Jen talked Mike though pivoting around a piling. We got in okay, it wasn’t graceful but it wasn’t ugly, so we’ll take it.

After docking we turned on golf, Mike gets super intense about his golf.

After golf was over we walked around downtown a little bit before it started raining.

We absolutely loved our time at Shipwright Harbor!!

At free beer night we met Mike and his son Mike Jr., they are form New Jersey. Mike lives here full time and his sone just so happened to be visiting while we were here. They are so friendly and we really loved chatting with them 🙂

Mike and Jen did a few boat projects, including finding the leak for our fresh water tank. It was in the line for the fresh water wash down on the stern. While we had the stern storage compartment empty Jen cleaned it our and scrubbed it. It looks so clean now!

We walked to get ice cream at Dixons, the peanut butter ice cream was really good.

On Wednesday night we went to Docksides across the bridge with Mike and his son Mike Jr. as well at their friend Mike…. so a total of 4 Mikes were at the table that night. We had fresh oysters and a few drinks, the oysters were some of the best we’ve ever had.

Jen went to the pool almost every day, reading and working on posts for the blog. She made friends with Conner, a flirty 4 year old who loved to play with water guns. The two had major water gun fights at the pool. His bother teamed up with him to attack Jen. His mom said Conner talked about Jen quite often at home. He is now her little boyfriend lol

Ray and Wendy in the slip next to us have a 46′ Grand Banks, they gave us a tour it’s beautiful. Wendy took Kelly and Jen shopping a few times. And Ray and Mike bonded on boat projects.

Tom and Charlotte met Jen at the pool where they bonded about live aboard life’s well as the journey from Texas. They are from Texas and left from Seabrook just like us! They fell in love with Maryland and haven’t left. Later in the week Mike and Kelly met them and we all became very close.

Gabe and Lizzy are live aboards a few slips down from us. They are so cute! Jen gave Lizzy a few tips on boat life she’s learned along the way and Kelly gave her a few storage ideas.

Mike and Mike Jr. came over Thursday and we grilled some steak and shrimp/sausage skewers. Food was great and the company was even better. Later in the evening we had a bonfire and Bo came to join us. He has a sail boat here in the marina. He was involved with the water gun fight at the pool earlier in the day as well.

We had a potluck dinner with all of our new friends as well, it was perfect. The friends we have made here are going to make it very hard for us to leave.

Our last night here the marina was hosting a “low country boil”. They had more free beer and wine. We had a few drinks called “Smash” from the Devils Backbone Brewing Company. They had a few flavors, and were very good. The marina hires a live band for the party, we enjoyed listing to them. We sat with all of our friends, and even made a few more. Unfortunately because of the rain the party was cut short. We ended up hanging out on Tom and Charlotte’s boat the rest of the night.

Such a beautiful travel day! Jen drove while Mike worked.

Jen drove, and Mike did a fantastic job docking the boat! Our boat is 14.5ft wide and the slip we were assigned is 16ft wide. So not a whole lot of extra room.

When we went to check in we were given a bag of goodies, including pineapple juice and baby bottles of Malibu… Yum! Along with meet the marina cat and dog, both super sweet and friendly.

We headed over to the pool for free beer and wine. Met a few boaters who keep their boat here full time…I think we are going to like it here.

Mike worked.

Jen and Kelly sewed up dog toys. The boys tear them up and play rough with them and we are constantly sewing them back together.

Puppies slept over in Jen’s room tonight. We have been watching Stranger Things on Netflix and Bonnie gets scared watching it with us so she got to sleep over in Jen’s room.

Tonight we went to dinner with our friends on Sabbatical. We met them back in Cabbage Key, Florida. They encouraged to anchor the boat and take the dingy over to the island for lunch, leaving the dogs and boat unsupervised… scary. We helped them celebrate crossing their wake for the 2nd time! They inspired us to get out of comfort zones. We loved getting to see old friends.

After dinner they were kind enough to take us to the grocery store.

Rudy was the perfect dingy captain today. She took us the the maritime museum. We saw some really cool fossils and fish.

Mike spent the day working.

Tonight Jen made pasta and a salad for everyone. Sitting down for dinner we all knew that this was going to be the last time seeing each other for a while. Sliver Linings will be headed north finishing their loop as they cross their wake in Michigan this fall. During Kent’s prayer before we ate our meal, we all had tears in our eyes.

We love Silver Linings so very much, they have become our best friends. We wish them the best on their adventures, and love them so much!

Happy Independence Day, America!!

We wanted to spend today in a small town with traditional celebrations. Solomons, MD did not disappoint. In the morning, we attended a ceremonial raising of the flag with many great speeches of local politicians, pastor and citizens.  

For breakfast, Katie made a tasty Bundt Quiche. 

Midday, we watched a boat parade from the bow on Silver Linings. There was about 40 boats fully decorated with patriotic flags and people waving.

We went for another dingy ride today. This time Harley joined us, he was a little hot but he loved it! Afterwards we went and got ice cream and rode the free trolly around town.

For dinner, we cooked burgers on the grill in our flybridge with Silver Linings and enjoyed their company. At dark, Solomons fireworks did not disappoint. Jen took some beautiful firework pictures. And of course we had our annual cherry pit spitting contest. The Silver Linings crew did great 🙂

It was a perfect day.

Today, we went for a ride on Silver Linings large dinghy. All 7 of us fit comfortably! We traveled up Mill Creek. It was quiet with nice homes….and a lot of jelly fish in the water!

Afterwards, Mike and Kent worked on the leak in our dinghy. They took it off the boat and put a liquid sealer in it, then rolled it around the ground to seal all the seams on the inside. Every hour, they flipped the dinghy to move any sealant that drained to the bottom. Hopefully, that helps.

Mike grilled hot dogs up on the fly bridge and we all ate dinner together. Then Jen went over for movie night on Silver Linings with Violet and Ruby. The girls watched Lilo and Stitch.

Safe travels Michael! Michael drove to San Diego, CA with his friends, Derek and Heath, for the holiday. They are staying with Derek’s family. He is over 2,800 miles away from us.

Kelly bought some 4^th of July decorations in Norfolk that Mike and Jen hung today.

 Our friends on Silver Linings arrived later in the day, we helped them with their lines as they came in. Kent did a great job docking while Katie and Ruby were the perfect deck hands.

Lenny, the marina owner offered to take Mike, Jen and Katie to the grocery store. We were able to stock up on a few things, as well as get hamburgers and hot dogs to grill on the 4th of July… and the essentials, beer and liquor.

Tonight we all went out for dinner, it was yummy.
